Couplet Poem
She stopped to help
She looks down at the poor lad,
And does not feel a bit glad.
He looks awful sick and poor,
And does not feel a bit glad.
He looks awful sick and poor,
It rattles her down to the core.
Here, take this water and jacket,
He smiled wide and drank it.
His eyes betrayed his surprise
When she sat down with him, to wait for sunrise.

Wowzer Bluebell - go straight to the top of the class. This is awesome awesome work... no I don’t have any other rhyming words that could touch yours!! Your whole couplet poem is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI actually have a tear in my eye...and with what’s going on in the world right now your words are perfect and so appropriate.
The girl in your poem is just what the world needs more of...
Thanks Jane, Im trying to get to the top of the class, maybe one day? Im sorry I made you cry, I hope you are well.
DeleteI completely agree that the world needs more people like this girl.
Thanks Again
Bluebell
I agree with Jane this is a beautiful poem and I hope that we can all look out for each other like this. My favorite lines are the last two.
ReplyDeleteHowever, and this is a teeny tiny suggestion, I wonder if 'blanket' would work better than 'jacket' as a rhyme? But jacket is fine too!
