Outdoor Week

This term our class had an outdoor week. Everyday we had different activities to choose from. The reason we did this is because we didn't have camp this year.

The activities I chose to do were…

Monday- Ice skating

Tuesday- Photography

Wednesday- Cooking and Werewolves

Thursday- Everyone goes to jellies park.

Friday- Whole school Fun day.




On Monday, my friends and I went ice skating with Sharon. It was really fun and really hard. It was my 3rd time ice skating and by the end I got really good. My friends Sophie A and Makenzie had never been ice skating before and we all really enjoyed it. And near the end I got a sprite :3 And Makenzie and I both fell over.




On Tuesday, I went into town to take some photography photos. We were all in groups.

Sharon gave us a list of photos to take ( etc, The sky, A close up of a flower, A food truck.) And then she took us all over town to get those photos. And at the end of the day we all got ice creams. I got chocolate fudge brownie flavour.




On wednesday, I did the Cooking and werewolves. When I did some cooking it was in the morning and I made chocolate chip cookies, I did it with Makenzie, Caitlyn and Lauren. Everyone made small multiple cookies so I did a big one and I ate it all at once and it tasted raw but I love cookie dough so it was nice!

Then in the afternoon Me and Mak and Sophie B played werewolves and I was the diseased (Which is the worst card by the way…) And sharon tried out some new rules which means that someone could turn into a werewolf and the werewolves chose me and I became a werewolves and killed Mak and Sophie B.




And on Thursday the whole class went to jellie park and it was awesome. Me, Mak, Sophie A, Sophie B, Joanna and Caitlyn went down in a line down the hydroslide and we went so fast! And we nearly flipped at the end and we were screaming the whole time. And me and azania were pretending that we were toddlers and that Mak was our annoying big brother. And Mak proposed to Sophie B and she said yes! ( Its fake by the way. )

The Magical Christmas Cracker

Alec and Tracey gathered around the tree on Christmas morning. The tree was small with multiple gold baubles some broken and some cracked. They had homemade popcorn tinsel hanging on the branches.
Alec had a gray hoodie and old jeans, and Tracey had Gryffindor PJs.
They woke up at 7:25 and woke up their parents by shaking them awake carefully.
They all walked to the living room and sat under the tree. There was only one present under the tree. A red and gold Christmas Cracker with a platinum ribbon tied to the side. Alec and Tracey picked up the Cracker and Tracey said . “ 3, 2, 1” They pulled hard on each end of the cracker and… two paper hats fell out. One red and one pale purple.
Alec smiled and said “Thank you so much mother and father dear.”
“Which one do you want Alec?” Tracey asked.
“ I will have the red one.” He says laughing happily.
For the rest of christmas morning Tracey and Alec played Kings and Queens of Magicland.
Skipping around the kitchen like fairies dancing in the wind.
Then at seven o'clock they called their parents into the kitchen.
“The paper hats are wonderful Mother and Father dears.” Alec said
“But we need to give you your present?” Tracey finished.
“As we have no money, We are going to knight you the fairy king and queen of Magicland!”
Their parents laughed as tracey pulled out a stick from their small backyard.
“ I hereby dub thee.” Tracey started.
“The king and Queen of Magicland!” ALec said.
“Do you promise to always protect the land and its citizens?” Tracey asked.
Mother and Father looked at each other.
“We promise.”

Our first Science Experiment!- Hokey Pokey

Hokey Pokey

Team name- Slytherclaws 🐍🐦

We making- HOKEY POKEY

Ingredients
100 grams of caster sugar
4 tablespoons of golden syrup
1 and a half teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

Recipe

Put the sugar and syrup into a saucepan and stir ( do not stir when it is on the heat)

Put the pan on the heat and let it melt, it should turn to goo. Then a bubbling mass the colour of maple syrup. This will take around 3 minutes

Take it off the heat and whisk it in with the bicarbonate soda. And watch it turn into a cloud of pale gold. Put it immediately onto some baking paper.

Leave it to set and bash it into small pieces.

now put in plain vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce 😍😍😍😎😎😎

It's Just a Prank???



The wind rushes through my hair I run to a stray corn field lie down and… The ground rocks? I jolt awake from my peaceful dream. The boys must be rocking my bed to annoy me. I scramble to the edge of the old musty bed Yelling. Alright this time it's not funny!!!
I look down and see… Water? Rushing and spraying my face with mist. Im dreaming right?? I look around. I am surrounded by trees and wind. Bushes sprouting with wild cranberries… Ok this is just a stupid prank i thought, It must be…
I get up standing on the springy bed. I groan and fall backwards into the rushing water. I Moan clutching my stomach. Why can’t i stand??? I crawl petifully back up to the bed which is rocking more now that i have fallen off. I expected it to come rushing over my head with the current. As i got back on i tried to remember what had happen last night…
The boys were jumping around the cabin like wild animals. Shut up. I moan. I have been feeling unwell all day and now i feel like im going to be sick. Owen the small quiet boy at the back of the room said in a mistfull voice… Here, Take these antibiotics they’ll help… He slowly hands me a small tub of very small pills and a glass of water. I take the pills and crush it in my teeth swallowing it whole. I pull my sheets up and lie down…
Of course!!! The pills… wait a minute they are pills? How could pills teleport me into the middle of unknown terrain??? Suddenly I began to feel very sick…

The New Weekly Rotation

This week we have started a new program. When one of our teachers is away doing a course on Tuesdays, We do this thing where we rotate around teachers. With nogo we are learning different languages, Today we learned Te reo moari. With sharon we are doing a movie thing,  Today we watched 35 minutes of the movie HOLES. And with Julie we are doing drama and we played a fun game where someone has too go outside and change 3 things about themselves and come back in. then we have to guess what they changed. IT WAS REALLY FUN!!!! :) :) :)

My Goals for Learning.- Never have to go back and add a full stop or capital
- Learn how to do alliteration better (etc Dina and Dan Dropped in front of Dolly the Dizzy Dolphin)
- Learn some other ways to write reports, cause they are boring
- Learn how to do Square Roots
- Learn how to do my 8 times tables in 3 seconds ( up to 15 x 8 )

- Finish a music video to a cover song.
- Do at least 9 videos for the podcast in a year.
- Finish writing my play ( labels )

Today at tech

Technology 14/3/18

Today at tech… We went to wood work we were finishing of our small treasure boxes we had to glue the base down then nail it into the sides of the box. But mr pledge our teacher used Makenzies box and my base. Mak was kind of mad but I did not care. Then we went to cooking with mrs sullivan. We made takeaway breakfast in a jar. It was really fun we cut up apples and put them in a pan of boiling syrup. But my pot kept banging because it was so high in temperature. Then we got oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and coconut and mixed them all together. Then we put it together first apple then oat mix then yogurt then berries. It was yummy!!!!!!!😁 and it smelled like apple crumble.

My connection is that i have seen a penguin covered

In oil. And the poor bird nearly died because of it.

I was really worried for him which is why i relate to

Tangaroa. He was worried about oil spreading and so was I



This was a project for our literacy group we read a story called tangaroa's fingernails and it was about some oil spreading in the sea and tangaroa stopping it we were told to find a connection to that story and something that has happened to you and here is mine :)
