  • Hector's dolphins
  • The basic facts
  • The hector's dolphin is a very small black, grey and white dolphin. It can only grow up to a shocking 1.5 metres long. Which makes them the smallest dolphin in the world. And an astonishing thing about them is the have rounded dorsal fins (mickey mouse fins.)And they can dive forTWO MINUTES! two minutes! (i know right.) And they only live in NZ waters. And are normally found close to shore.
  • Things concerning its survival.
  • The hector's dolphin is a very rare species and often accidentally get into fishermen's nets of passing boats. And being an endangered species this is very bad as they are native. And  they get very scared and often screech for help.
  • How to protect it.
  • When you meet a hector's dolphin you must only aproach politly and carefully so not to scare it. When meeting a Hector's dolphin you must not chase them. And do not let out any nets we wish to keep them alive.
