matariki



MATARIKI Matariki is a group of stars in the sky that appear in late may or early june the oldest sister matariki is the most important star who directs her sisters to there places in the beautiful night sky the stars are called tupu a nuku,tupu a rangi,waiti,waita,waipuna a rangi and ururangi and the oldest is MATARIKI when the stars shine brightly the year will be filled with good fortune and it is bad luck when you cannot see them.matariki is a time to spend time with your family

    we also had a matariki night at our school and there we shared all our knowledge about matariki and all the stars personalitys an we had to decide which star is most like us i think tupu a rangi is most like me cause she loves to sing
